Online Portfolio of Arizona Documentary Photographer, Winona Grey

Endless streams of information and limited attention spans have become the norm. In a world full of branded imagery, there is no mistaking a real moment.

You know it when you see it.

It draws you in.
It slows your scroll. It seems to gaze back at you for as long as you stop & give it your attention.

I aim to witness rather than impose. I want my images to leave room for the viewer’s own memory and narrative to reflect something truthful back.

Honest moments
can’t be faked.

My disappearing act is like no other

or so I’ve been told
(for more almost two decades, I’ve practiced patience and worked hard to hone my craft).
I approach each scene by blending into the environment. I become a part of the energy that is already present.

I quiet my thoughts and let the moment show me where the magic is.
