Sometimes the strongest presence in a place is silent. Stillness asks for a longer look. When I look longer, I often notice what has (or has not quite) settled into place. This is what makes a photograph of an environment feel real to me.

Not perfection, but the evidence of time.

My photographs of places are less about structures or geography than they are about encounter. I am trying to remind you how it feels to stand in front of stone or glass or water. What happens when you sense how time has touched the surfaces before you?

Sometimes I use photography to distill my wonder about the impact I leave on the places I inhabit.
